Elena MacDonald is an accomplished speech pathologist with specialised speech, language, voice, and swallowing rehabilitation expertise. Her extensive clinical experience spans work at Fremantle and Fiona Stanley Hospitals, where she treated communication and swallowing disorders in patients with stroke, traumatic brain injury, voice impairments, and progressive neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis.

Elena is highly skilled in evidence-based therapies for dysphasia, dysphagia, dysphonia, and cognitive communication disorders. Certified in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT LOUD) for Parkinson’s Disease, she is known for her innovative therapeutic approaches, strong interpersonal skills, and commitment to enhancing long-term client outcomes.

Currently, Danica is undertaking her Postgraduate Master’s in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at Curtin University and is involved in clinical research.

Danica implements client-centered care and evidence-based practices to identify what is meaningful to her participants and to help them achieve their goals. Danica is passionate about helping clients of all age groups improve their functional capacity in both the home and community. She utilises a multimodal approach of physiotherapy support including exercise therapy, pain physiology management, dry needling, joint mobilisations and soft tissue release to achieve the best outcomes for her clients.

She holds a Bachelor of Speech Pathology with Honours from the University of Queensland and is a Certified Practicing Member of Speech Pathology Australia. Diane is passionate about family-centred practice and works collaboratively with children and families to reach their communication goals. She strongly believes in collaborating not just with parents, but with other professionals to improve the continuity of care. With over 10 years of experience, Diane has spent most of her professional years working with children with developmental delays, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Language Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder / Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, stuttering and speech language delays. Her past work experience includes the public healthcare and education systems in Queensland, Australia, and at the Child Development Unit of the main tertiary children’s hospital in Singapore. Diane also spent a number of years being part of a Consultancy Team from the children’s hospital that supported pre-school intervention programs in Singapore through training and coaching educators. She believes that empowering educators and caregivers to understand and support communication is a vital aspect of supporting child development.

Diane is trained in a number of speech pathology programs including Lidcombe Program, Social Thinking, Natural Language Acquisition and parent training programs from Hanen (It Takes Two to Talk, Talkability, More Than Words), Signpost for Building Better Behaviour, and the Relational Invitational Approach.

With a holistic approach to communication, Diane is dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families.
